It was inevitable. With the arrival of the DS and the Nintendo Wii, the Gamecube and Gameboy Advance will shortly become obsolete. With such few games to be released, it won't be long now. All game systems have to die eventually, and these two are no different. I had a soft spot for them both however. And they will never be forgotten.

I remember my first ever console system, it was a Nintendo and that was about 15 years ago. Both me and my brother took a day off from school as we wanted to play on it, we played Mario Bro and Contra. We finished both the games in one day. I still remember the fights we used to have while playing each other and the scolding we used to receive from mom when we did not complete our school homework. LOL. those were the days. these days all they care about is technology. no wonders Wii is killing it, its brought the fun back into gaming. Nintendo knows how to make people enjoy playing games

My very first system was an original Gameboy. Packed with Tetris. I played Tetris for DAYS on end. Even though I sucked at it horribly. I moved my way on up to games like Batman, and Bonk's Adventure. Oddly enough my first console was a SEGA Genesis. I have been a SEGA fanboy since I was a kid. I got an SNES later though. I loved them both.

hehehe,

Ok I'll show my age here.  My first system was an Atari 2600.  Anyone remember pong?  You look back at those games now and wonder how we were entertained by them.  But then I had my nieces and nephews over not too long ago and the games they played the most on my xbox were remakes like defender and donkey kong.

I th in old consoles have enough games to entertain yourself and you can entertain yourself with those cheap handy consoles. Nothing to worry about because you can upgrade some latest console when you would have money.

I don't really see it as saying goodbye to wonderful systems but if you do want to see it that way just remember that 'all good things must come to an end'.  Let's look at the more optimistic approach to all this: it's just saying hello to the even more wonderful siblings of these wonderful systems.  And it's all getting better! Nintendo's still here baby! Wink

Yes , you are right . My views are same as your's. I like the way as you said " all good things must come to an end" . With the passage of time new stuff take place of the old but we can not degrade the old systems too.It is because of the olds that we see new inventions in every field.

It is really a time to say goodbye to old systems . It is quite natural and this is why the new inventions are  going on. Every day we see new replacing the old . To day we see advanced and upgraded technology all around .
