How do you guys feel about the war in iraq?
IMO Iraq war is a biggest mistake done by amreica in the last 50 years. I myself dont support any war, but there is some justification to war in afganisthan,
but iraq war is totally waste of money paid by we tax payers.
The troops should never of been sent in the first place, the war was pointless, what have they proved?

the unfortunate thing about the iraq war was that a lot of civilians have died, the war is completely justified. they caught saddam and he was executed. that man alone is responsible for the deaths of countless innocents. one thing I dont understand is when the US doesnt do anything, then they are in the wrong. and when they do something, they are still in the wrong. so how can anybody justify that.

The Iraq situation is turning out to be an embarrassment for the Bush administration. Atleast when they went to Afghanistan they had some real motive, but with Iraq it was more to do with family grudge than anything else. Bush senior did it, so Bush junior had to do it as well.

Seriously, why are we still in Iraq? We didn't find weapons of mass destruction, and we certainly aren't going to change Iraq's government. I like how most of the people in the USA want the troops to pull out, yet we are still in Iraq. What's going on with our freedom?

I have read in a report published on CNN site that Death toll of US army rises than in 9/11. I think that was the worst decision. There could be many more ways to eliminate terrorism. It will not be at cost of army without any reason.

I have no doubt in my mind that GW and crew knew most of the information used to justify Iraq was incorrect before we invaded.

However now that we have completely destroyed the infrastructure of that country we cannot simply pull out and leave them.  We made this mess and we need to help clean it up.

War is aganist humanity. In Iraq war children have become orphan, wife's become window and innocent persons have lost their life.America can give the excuse that it is their ""Anti terrorist compagin"".But it is just a misuse of power they have. Moreover it looks that it was not war against terrorism it was fight for petrol that Iraq owns.Iraq was selling that in Mid Euorope and it was affecting the wealth of America.
Well we can think that it was their war against terrorist and they have convicted Saddam, but what the hell is american soldiers doing with prisoners  of Iraq.According to report they are treated as animals. Is this not a terrorist act by american soldier?.
No one can justify the attack by Americans on Iraq.

As was the case in Iraq for the last 15 years but the world stood by and let it happen.  Where were you when Saddam was executing thousands?

The vast majority, and I do mean the VAST majority are treated humanely.  There were a few cases where people were truly mistreated and that is a shame.  But it's a major overstatement to say that the treatment of prisoners is a terrorist act by american soldiers.

I think that we had no rite to invade Iraq on the scale we did i think that in the beginning yes our prescence was needed more but 3/4 years later i don't see the point. It seems that they went from having one oppressive leader to being opressed by a different one. As to whether or not Bush had alterior motives for entering Iraq i don't know but with that man i wouldn't put anything past him. It was fantastic news to hear that the British troops were taken out of Basra today. I think we need to concentrate on the problems at home before we go and help out those of another nation!

I was also in favor of that but some videos on Youtube change my mind. You should also check that, just try some keyword related to "saddam" and you will get that. I think this was necessary step which US GOV. has taken. Who would has done that if US would not? I think we should be broad minded and should look around all over the world about people's standard of life.

Karrar,

It's unfortunate that the world (including the USA) stands by year and year and allows atrocities to happen.  If only the entire world would truly back the UN and create a force that could deal with the tyrants out there.

Unfortunately the US becomes the world cop and has to deal with many of these problems. But then we get labelled the bad guy.

That's true Andrew, but literally hundreds of thousands were killed by Saddam and his crew while they were in power.  I realize that Iraq is FUBAR at the moment, but I think in the long run they will be better off without Saddam in power.

I think many people don't support this war and to be honest I'm still confused as to why they can't settle their differences through peaceful means.  This is a very sensitive topic...I feel that if we do have to get angry at anyone it would have to be towards the aggressors.  We can't really get angry at the army, esp. because they're simply following orders.  The best thing to do is to hope it ends soon and hope that innocent lives don't fall prey to this war.

If you can find the answer to this you'd be hailed as a hero for generations!
