Problems with Spiderman 3

I was listening to 2guystalking.com's coverage of the movie Spiderman 3 and they made an interesting observation about comic book movies today.

These days you aren't watching characters playing heroes, your watching actors play heroes. In the comic books did Spiderman ever take off his mask? In the cartoons did Spiderman play with his mask off? But in the movies they keep having to show Tobey Maguire with the mask off in the suit, and they kept pulling back Venom's mask, which never happened before, to reveal Eddie Brock's (Topher Grace) face, just to give these actors face time, which I think compromised the movie's integrity and faithfulness.

Anyone agree? Why didn't so many like it?

I think almost all movie makers want to cash personalities and celebrities. I think sometime these scenes make the situation more real. Books or comics are something different and we can't compare them with movies.

i agree with you, i mean all of new york city knows who spiderman is in the movie, that is just too bad as it kills the character. we all know what tobey looks like, so why have him remove his mask all the time.

I think most of us on this forum will be agree with your views.But ,now  values are changed and commercialism has dominated in all the fields ,every body wants to make more and more money.That is why we see a spider man with a mask in his basket.

They can get bags of money for the[r movie but one thing they will never be able to get that is admiration.IN the movies of the past we never saw a spider man with out mask.But I am afraid they have a lot of money to spend for making a movie .If the movie can not be able to get the attraction of the people then a film maker will be no more a looser.

I would like to say that this whole movie "Spiderman3" is a problem ! After success of "Spiderman1" the director gone a mad ,,,,

If the directer has gone mad thats what he wanted.He got success.He got millions against this movie Spider man.That is why he started the series under the same name.

I think there is no problem in spider man movies that now a days we see a spider man with out mask.Now a days  film cost is very high and no one like to loose his money.That is why we are seeing the real face of the actor.People like to see their favorite actors.

In the past movies we never saw a spider man with out mask . Now a days we want to see the movies of our favorite celebrities . That is why we see a change in the spider man movies .

It was past movie trend trend that we never knew who was behind the mask in the spider man movies . Now people love to watch the movies of their favorite actors and actress . That is why we see the face of the spider man in the movies ,I don't see any harm in it  .

These days people want to see their favorite actors in action  . The film makers are doing exactly what the people demand . That is why we see spider man with mask in his pocket .
